Already our third installment, and we are as always impatient to deliver the latest news about Octopus.

As in previous editions, you will find all news about Octopus, our changes made and latest implemented features.

6 Octopus processes now ITIL® certified by Pink Elephant

For a second time in less than a year, we are proud to announce that Octopus has been officially ITIL® certified by the firm Pink Elephant, an enterprise renowned internationally for certifying tools specialized in IT service management.

In addition to certified processes from last fall (Incident management, Request execution and Event management), Octopus has met all required criteria to certify Problem management, Change management and Service asset and configuration management as well!

We are now at 6 certified processes, without forgetting that Octopus-ITSM.com is the first software editor from Canada to obtain this recognition.

Octopus Webinars

Starting this fall, we are launching our Octopus Webinars. These Webinars, of an approximate length of 45 minutes, happen each Wednesday every 3 weeks and will present various subjects such as new features, advanced solutions and our most popular options. As of now, Webinars will only be available in French.  If you do have an interest in attending English spoken Webinars, please contact our service center to let us know.  Once enough customers show an interest, we will make sure to schedule some in English as well!  

For a second consecutive year, Octopus is proud to take part of the 48 hours of biking. Taking place on Montreal's Gilles Villeneuve Circuit, from September 25 to September 27th 2015, the event will allow us to collect donations for the Make-A-Wish foundation.

These donations will help children with serious health issues realize their most desired wish. The magic of a wish fulfillment allows children to confront their sickness in a daily battle. 

If you would like to encourage us, a donation can be made online through our Team Octopus page. All donations are welcome, no matter the amount given. Also note that all donations over $20 is eligible for an official tax receipt.

You have until September 26th to make a donation and help us reach our team goal of $3600.

New features in Octopus

Redesign of Change module and deployment calendar feature The 4.1 version allowed us to rework the Change module and to add a deployment calendar.  Several interesting features have been added to the Change module :  Change categories Statuses and transitions Change templates Change tasks modifications For additional information, we invite you to read the Change management - Octopus module article.

Graphical CMDB view Often requested, the graphical CMDB view allows an overview of the CMDB and relations between CIs. Discover how to use our graphical CMDB view and do not hesitate to provide feedback.

Graphical management of tasks The Edit mode of Task management has been replaced by a new Graphical mode. This change will help workflow management and provide a better overview of all your tasks, their dependencies and requirements. The Task management article explains it in details, and how to optimize its use in Octopus.
