The Octopus system account is used when executing applications like
ESI.Octopus.ADSIReaderApp.exe. We recommand to use a specific system account which will serve to validate if a user has been created following an Active Directory import.
EditCreation steps
- Activate the "Users" module
- Click on action "Create a user" and enter the following information:
- First Name : Octopus
- Last Name : System
- Click on OK
- Select the user file. In the "Octopus account" tab, enter "System" as an Octopus username.
- Click on "Assign a password" so you can create one. (This field is MANDATORY)
- Check "System user"
- In the "Permissions" tab, check the following ones:
- Under General / Administer Octopus
- All permissions underConfigurations
- Save
To prevent an involuntary user suppression, we suggest that you add a note as *** DO NOT DELETE OR DISABLE *** in the "User" tab, Note section.
