Our team works hard to deliver one of the most important Octopus versions since a long time. We have seen big... very big... but our vision takes time to fulfill. This means that the Winter 2011 Octopus version will instead be the Spring 2011 version.
EditWhat's coming in the spring?
You have requested more flexibility with the lists and search function? You've got it!
Save your queries...
...and put them on your left sidebar.
Completely configure the left sidebar
You want the server list above your "My assignments" in your "Home" module? You now have full control...
Share your lists among colleagues
The new "Query Library" allows you to see the lists offered by Octopus as well as ones made public by your colleagues.
More than 800 searchable fields...
Almost all fields in Octopus can be searched or put into a list, including the configuration attributes of a CI.
Perform complex searches with lots of data in a record times
As an example, you can open the list of your 10 000 users in the blink of an eye.
To keep you in suspense, here is a video to demonstrate these features and much more...
That's not all, the Spring 2011 version will include other improvements and innovations that we will share with very shortly.
EditWhile waiting for the Spring 2011 version...
To help you wait for the Spring 2011 version, we are making available today (version 3.1.6) a new feature...
Publishing of the advancement of an SR on the self-service Web portal.
You can now show your users the progress of the implementation of a service request by displaying the status of the individual tasks. Therefore, the Web portal becomes an even better communication tool.

To activate this option, go to "Tools > Options" and select the option "Visibility of tasks progress via the self-service Web application" located at the end of the options list. After that, you will be able to configure which tasks will be visible or not, either at the types of SR level or at the task level.
Happy holidays and see you next year!
